张明和胖子是北京城内两个游手好闲、不务正业的小青年，他们靠假冒警察敲诈富商赚钱。除此之外，他们还经常在街上搭讪女青年寻找刺激。这一日，张明遇到某大学外语系女学生吴迪，这两个身份悬殊的年轻人却擦出不该有的火花。张明的玩世不恭很快让充满浪漫情怀的吴迪倾倒，从此对他忠贞不二；然而张明却只是随便玩玩，他毫不珍惜这个纯洁女孩的感情。倍感受伤的吴迪出卖肉体，自甘堕落，更因此付出生命。张明则在一次抓捕过程中锒铛入狱。三年后，张明获释出狱。在前往某海滨城市养病的途中，他邂逅了爽朗的女大学生胡昳。这个女孩给了张明似曾相识的感觉，同时也让他切实体会到自己当年对吴迪造成的无法弥补的伤害…… 本片根据王朔同名小说《一半是火焰，一半是海水》改编。。MP Cunningham and Jeremy Jackson’s new scripted comedy Agua Donkeys has landed at Quibi and will be released this spring.
