子旋（王琳饰）和女儿晴雨（宋芮宁饰）过着相依为命的生活，子旋是一名建筑设计师，在行业里浸淫多年大受好评，深得客户的信赖。然而，和她在职场里的女强人形象截然相反的是，子旋是一个生活白痴，对家庭琐事一窍不通，家里大大小小的活计都是晴雨在一手操办，母女两人的身份仿佛掉了个个儿，非常有趣。 一次采访中，子旋邂逅了名为严寒（翟凡壹饰）的男子，他的出现让子旋感到，在走出了之前失败的婚姻阴影之后，自己是时候开始一段新的感情了。严寒是彻头彻尾的浪子，虽然刚开始和子旋交往时，他的心思并没有全部放在她的身上，但随着时间的推移，子旋的优秀与勇敢渐渐打动了严寒的真心。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
