本故事讲述了顺喜（史元庭饰）在一次次白事委托中，渐渐成长为一名优秀的白事先生。他也终于明白了身为白事先生的真正意义，为逝者哀悼，让生者释怀。故事聚焦殡葬题材，生老病死乃人之常情，白事是对死者最后关怀，于其本人与家属而言都意义非凡。白事先生自古有之，又称白事知宾，就是丧事上负责主持传统礼节的主持人。无论是古时还是现在，白事先生都极其重要，他能引导生者去如何更好的送走死者，给予死者最后的尊荣，让逝者体面地走完人生的最后一程，同时引导生者站在死亡的终点，去感受生命之重，重新思考人生的意义。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime. To collect money, nephews and nieces organize a Son et Lumière show at the manor while busily looking for the missing corpse. But, unexpectedly, they get killed in turns. Murders or accidents? Jean-Marie, his fiancée Micheline and his cousin Edwige investigate and finally succeed in exposing the culprit.
