讲述许大呜在十年动乱中被发配到青海牧场，如今他官复原职，又调回第九羊毛衫厂继续任厂长。10年前，他与担任副厂长的妻子曲文娣志同道合，进行了一场"春兰牌"和"秋菊牌"羊毛衫产品质量的竞赛。现在他还想将那场竞赛继续下去，谁知工厂状况已经改变，曲文娣也没了当年的锐气....。Based on real events, the story follows a father and son (Offerman and Tremblay) who identify as Sovereign Citizens, a group of anti-government extremists, as they venture across the country and find themselves in a standoff with a chief of police (Dennis Quaid) that sets off an intense manhunt with tragic consequences.。
